Generosity & Success

By

Just had to share this with you.

Word for word, this is what Seth Godin wrote in his blog post today:

“Here’s conventional wisdom: Success makes you happy. Happiness permits you to be generous.

In fact, it actually works like this: Generosity makes you happy. Happy people are more likely to be successful.”

Too true.

Find an opportunity to be generous today.

You do not have to give money away to be generous. Generous is also afforded when, for example, you take the time to really listen to your partner/sibling/colleague, or stop to help a stranger or go out of your way to acknowledge or connect with someone whom you would ordinarily overlook, ie car parking attendant.

As Seth suggests, generosity is a boomerang.

In a word, is generosity correlated to success? Yes.

I believe this to be a universal truth – the more you give, the more you get back.
